Helen graduated from Otago medical school in 1992 and completed her Radiology post graduate training in Auckland in 2000. She underwent Advanced Training with a fellowship in MRI at the Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne in 2002. Helen has particular expertise in Body Imaging, including Gastrointestinal Radiology and CT Colonography, Gynaecological Imaging including Oncology, Endometriosis and Advanced Pelvic Floor Ultrasound, Urogynaecology and Cardiac CT. She thoroughly enjoys her profession, and the ongoing learning and teaching involved with her work.
Helen runs annual CT Colonography accreditation workshops in Australasia and has lectured widely on this topic in the medical community. She has published several scientific papers. She is a member of the Northern Bowel Cancer Tumour Stream, the Northern Midland Gynaecology Oncology Tumour Stream, and is a member of the National Bowel Cancer Working Group. Helen has served on the executive committee of ARGANZ (Abdominal Radiology Group of Australia and NZ) from 2009 till 2011, and remains an active member of this group. She is a member of the European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology, and serves as a reviewer for the JMIRO, NZMJ and BMJ scientific publications.
